Dr. Shane grew up in the ideal small town of Lahoma, Oklahoma, with 16 people in his graduating class. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force as a financial management specialist and the Honor Guard. During his military service, his wife was rear-ended by a semi-truck. They spent the night in the ER. The semi hit her car so hard that it dislocated her jaw, and she eventually had reconstructive surgery. This was when he learned about the incredible benefits of chiropractic care. She went from debilitating migraines and rebound headaches that required lots of drugs and injections, with extreme pain in her neck and back, to feeling better than before the accident. In his last year in the Air Force, he was selected for the elite Honor Guard. This allowed him to travel all over the United States. When his term ended, he went to Oklahoma State University for his business degree in international business. He then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he searched for his career.
He was reintroduced to chiropractic care by helping his roommate get credits at a chiropractic school in Kansas City. He got his first adjustment. After he received his first adjustment, he found his path. He felt that caring for your nervous system is the most benevolent thing one human can do for another. After finishing his undergraduate degree in introductory science coursework at the Florida Institute of Technology and Excelsior College, he started at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida. At Palmer, Dr. Shane spent most of his time at several outreach clinics, working with patients in homeless shelters and drug rehabilitation facilities in the Daytona Beach area. He started a community garden for the Palmer students with 40 garden plots. Gardening is Dr. Shane's way of relaxing, a much-needed skill in graduate school, and a life skill everyone should learn.
His wife was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in his last year of school. That's another story for another day. Let's say Dr. Shane lives to fix the most complex cases confidently.
After graduating from Palmer College in Port Orange in 2016, his family moved back to the Space Coast. He has been married to his wife, Bronwyn, whom he met in college, since 2009. Bronwyn, an Australian, has been a flight attendant for a major airline since 2001, and she still loves it! They love their dog, Fu Manchu, like their child (since they don't have kids yet). Their passions include golf, tennis, music festivals, ukulele, drums, traveling, gardening, cooking together, and enjoying beach life.
